The Woolly Good Gathering '26 Exclusive Colourway
Fingering weight
50% Falkland Merino, 50% Bluefaced Leicester
400m per 100g | 437yard per 3.5oz
We have found a couple of skeins from our exclusive festival yarn.
This year’s Designer Competition theme was Community, and we felt deeply inspired to carry that theme through to our yarn choice. Community, after all, is the reason this festival exists. It felt only right to work with a mill whose values echo that same warmth and connection.
Our 2026 festival base has been created by John Arbon Textiles, a small-scale worsted spinning mill in North Devon — a place filled with heritage, care, and creativity. Their lovingly restored vintage machinery, thoughtful sourcing, and hands-on approach to making yarn make every skein feel meaningful. Their fibre is selected with intention, much of it traceable back to individual farms, and their ethics guide every part of the process.
The yarn blend features:
• Falklands Merino – soft, bouncy, naturally mulesing-free
• Bluefaced Leicester – beautifully British, with drape and durability
• A non-superwash, worsted-spun finish for softness, strength and natural warmth
• A fully traceable UK fibre component through BWMB’s scheme
It is a 100g/400m fingering weight skein

Each skein is hand-dyed in small batches and variations between skeins should be expected. We dye and store all of our yarn in our smoke-free and pet-free studio. Due to the individual nature of hand-dyed yarn, we would always recommend alternating skeins.
Animal fibres absorb dye differently depending on their structure. Some bases produce richer, deeper tones, while others create softer or more subtle colour effects. Blends that include reinforcing fibres such as nylon may show higher contrast or more defined speckling. Non-superwash bases often display more nuanced, painterly colour variation.
The skeins has been photographed in natural light to give you the best representation of colour, but please be aware that screens and monitors can differ slightly. We cannot guarantee that your device's display of any colour will be accurate.
High quality acid dyes are properly set before washing and rinsing twice to assure the colour adheres correctly, however some bright or extreme colours may bleed slightly in the first wash.
